Great letter! I remember as a teenager in the 1980s it was something to be proud of to support Amnesty International with your pocket money(and go on lots of demos and shop at the Body Shop and go vegetarian/vegan πŸ˜€). Amnesty now is nasty and it’s an embarrassment. Now so obsessed with trans and Israel they have lost their way completely.

Well done organising this letter to the Charity Commissioner.

Amnesty have been off with the woo for some time but this takes the biscuit!!

They need to be in the bin.

Have cross posted.

Can someone please come up with a term other than 'gender critical'? Sex realist is better as clearer what is meant. Or...?

As a trustee of a grant making charity specifically set up to support women and girls, I am delighted we have the law on our side, but more importantly on the side of women and girls.

It's not that hard to understand: trans people exist and deserve respect. Agreed, but that's not the same as claiming that if some trans people believe they are the opposite sex, then they are. And that those of us who don't go along with it are homophobic.

Good to see this. Please also send it to OSCR, the Scottish Charities regulator.

Huzzah!

Maybe they can be shamed into doing their jobs properly …

Out of interest. A local women’s group has applied to the CC for charity status. They have been asked to show how they will prove members are women! Is the CC picking a side here. This is a clever way of making the CC applicants trans inclusive in my opinion.

β€œNearly every person knows their own sex. They must abide by those sex-based rules, or face potential charges of personation, trespassing, harassment, etc etc following the involvement of duly constituted authorities.”

Nice & easy.
